Katie McCaughey is a Graduate Environmental Consultant at Canavan Associates Ltd., supporting the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), planning applications, and renewable energy projects.

Katie holds a Master’s degree in Climate Change (Distinction) and a First-Class Honours degree in Geography from Queen’s University Belfast, providing her with a strong academic foundation in climate science, sustainability, and environmental policy.

Her academic work includes advanced research in climate modelling and environmental change, where she analysed future climate scenarios and their impact on global systems. This has developed her ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, meaningful insights relevant to real-world environmental challenges.

At Canavan Associates, Katie supports project teams through research, report preparation, policy analysis, and project coordination. She contributes to environmental reporting, assists in the preparation of technical documents, and supports the tracking and management of EIA projects, gaining hands-on experience across a range of planning and environmental consultancy work.

Katie is particularly interested in climate change, sustainability, and the transition to low-carbon energy systems, and is committed to developing her expertise within the environmental and renewable energy sectors.
